Lol! I don't like Thoroughbreds either! I call the OTTB 'track rats'. (Only to myself though, not outloud to offend anyone)

I can't see a properly conformed Saddlebred as a hunt seat horse other than within the breed circuit. HOWEVER, they do make -- or have the potential to make -- excellent dressage horses. Harry Callaghan is an example of this, and there are others floating around out there under the title of "american warmbloods"...which they technically are. I would LOVE to someday own a Saddlebred FEI-level horse (in addition to my saddle seat horses, of course ) because their movement and high levels of collection are SO impressive. Saddlebreds are also gaining popularity in combined driving events. To recognize these horses, the American Saddlebred Horse Association has the Saddlebred Select program ( www.saddlebred.com/Prize-Saddlebred-Select) and Year End Awards program ( www.saddlebred.com/Prize-Year-End-Awards). There has also been a Saddlebred sporthorse association ( www.americansaddlebredsporthorse.com) developed that is separate from the ASHA. If you are a member of the ASHA and give them your email address, you will be emailed the latest announcements of the registry and you would possibly already know most of this stuff. You can still view most of these announcements on the home page ( www.saddlebred.com). -- changed these into URLs for you guys

I don't really like Morgans all that much. They are cute but I prefer an ASB or TWH.
