reality~ i see where ur coming from, but we're all allowed to have our opinions on this...its not like its that big of a deal if we want to get upset over the hunter/jumpers or if we think its funny when they get mad about us bashing them. its more of our own problem how we act so u dont really need to let it bother you, if u want to stay out of it then that's ur decision and is respected too. i personally, dont automatically have a problem with all hunt seat people, just the ones that say or do something to get me upset.
here on the saddleseat board, we all just need to get along!

That would be the very reason as to why I don't go on YR much. Some people are just too immature.

Yes, it is your opinion and I thank you for voicing it. As I voiced mine. Do not tell not to let it bother me because it does, and that's my problem, but when it is brought to this forum, it becomes all of our problems. I had voice my "opinion" on what was happening on YR. And when it was brought over here I voiced it a little louder. And yes, it would be nice to just all get along, but when YR immaturity is brought on this board I will speak my mind again. That is unless you ban me or something. I am sorry you got involved in this so late after the issue had been dropped. Basically what I was doing was to stop a fight from ocurring, sorry if you wanted yet another us vs. them fight, but personally I am tired of it. There are many more of them that think SS is evil and I don't think an immature fight was the way to make anyone realize that it isn't. You know I have so many points on this I would love to make but I have probably already said to much. Just like on YR with SS, I feel out numbered, I am now feeling the same way on this forum, even though it is full of SS riders.

i never said i wanted another fight but you know im just not gonna say anything else about this after this, i was trying to be helpful but if u dont take it that way I'll just drop it. one thing i wanna say tho is that i dont think that i was at any point being immature and i dont really appreciate that being said b/c it makes it sounds like ur talking down to me or us in general and really the huntseat stuff that we say is all in fun and we (at least from what i kno) like to keep things light, idk i guess its just hard when u cant really hear ppl's tones online.
ur right that we arent going to make ppl realize that saddleseat isnt bad with some of the comments that we make, but i personally dont think that we will ever change most ppl's minds who are that set in their ways (as nice as it would be to have ppl realize that ss is really a good discipline, i realize that it isnt likely that I'll ever change my views so i in turn dont expect them to).
i really am sorry that u feel like ur outnumbered here, which im guessing is b/c ur often having to be very defensive in ur posts, we really are nice here, i guess we just have some quirks about us (like our huntseat talk) that has to be rolled with...maybe we shouldnt say anything and im sorry u find it immature. i really didnt think that i said anything bad to you in my previous post b/c i do appreciate ur opinion on this just as much as anyone elses on here, but I of course wanted to say my piece too and was hoping that what i said wouldnt be taken offensively as i meant it as something to be friendly. i hope that you'll at some point feel like u fit in better here and im sure that we'd all want u to feel like part of the cbc saddleseat family (for lack of a better description).
again im sorry that u felt i was attacking ur opinion and it is possible for us all to get along b/c its always been that way in the past and i dont see this as anything getting in the way of that...just a minor clash.

very well said. This is the reason why I left YR long time ago...I'm glad that when I got back the ppl on their had matured, so here I'd really like it if we could get along w/ the huntseat ppl. U know when I went to WWU for camp all the hunseaters (evern AT CAMP) decided to bash saddleseat every chance they got and I almost (seriously) was going to open up a can of wooping on most of those girls and I made sure they knew it. It's nice u guys voice ur opinion just don't voice it so harshly and so bashingly

Just like on YR with SS, I feel out numbered, I am now feeling the same way on this forum, even though it is full of SS riders. Don't bother...I just see it as you're a step ahead of the majority here. You guys, you can voice your opinion if they voice theirs -- but it's just stooping to their level if you do it in a rude/condescending/immature way and in my eyes, you're no better than they are. On top of that, you're casting a negative light over the entire breed (whether it's related or not)...if the kids are rude, surely the adults can't raise them...if the adults can't raise them, surely they can't raise the horses properly...surely they abuse their horses with the different training techniques/etc. It's a long stretch, but you know as well as me that if someone doesn't like something, they're going to make as many assumptions and twist whatever they've got to make it look bad. You'd be doing the breed a larger favor if you took it in stride and with class -- the Saddlebred IS supposed to be the epitome of a show horse, the "peacoc k of the ring", right? That insinuates class. Next time you see something you don't like...read it, take a breath, and leave it be. Come back a few hours and reply to it then if you must. But when you reply rashly and in poor defense, it'll only feed the fire and you'll end up doing much more damage than good.

^i agree with you, but even tho before i said the bit about us being allowed to voice our opinions, i've never said mean things back to the hunters about their discipline, I've only defended saddleseat with facts....i always try to be polite on yr (even tho i openly speak my mind on here b/c everyone here understands for the most part) cuz if ur rude no one really cares to listen to you anyway... i just didnt want ppl assuming that i was being rude to the hunter/jumpers on YR
