red would look pretty good, really any rich color would look good on them in my opinion... i just wouldnt go for any color day coats that are tan or in that family of neutrals.

Actually, I was going to recommend a neutral tan/beige-ish color. Black jods & derby if you're riding a black horse. I'm a definate non-fan of loud daycoats...I don't even like red for vests, lol.

hmmm, the bay might look really nice in a pale yellow and so would the black. Red is always nice on a black horse too. And hunter green would look great on both too

Of course, some colors work better in different materials. Are you going to have the coat made, or are you ordering it out of a catalog? If you're ordering it from a magazine, I'd avoid the loud colors as they tend to be gaudy. But I guess it does depend on the breed you're showing -- some breeds can get away with more than the Saddlebred people can!

I like red and pale yellow, good ideas. I also think a light purple one would be pretty. Callie Smith had a light/medium purple coat on Wind Cruzer and it looked great.

I definantley agree a neutral color like a creamy white or tan/beige color. If you having one custom made you can be more adventures though, the purple callie smith wears is very prety. But if your ording one form a catologe i would recomend that you go with more of a classic color. I personly dont care for loud color day couts either. good luck!
