Hey, what about burgundy? It is a very stylish, flashy, yet elegant color. I have a full suit in burgundy and it looks nice, so I am sure a day coat would look just as nice. Burgundy is flashy but not too overwhelming. Here are some different colors as well:

I think I would go for a more neutral color or one that isn't too bright. I don't really like the way the royal blue and red look in those pictures. They are really bright. I think the light grey is pretty, and I also like the forest/hunter green color.

i think burgundy or a cream kind of white would be the best way to go, a girl at my barn has a white day coat and she can do all kinds of things witht the ties and vest and it looks awesome with pretty much any horse. laura: i dont like the way the red or royal blue either....not to offend ppl that have those exact colors, but it looks...whats a good word? i guess cheap b/c its so bright. i would always agree that richer colors are better.

To me, darker more conservative colors look more elegant and classy.

Wow sorta missed out on this one but oh well. Maybe its only for saddlebreds or soemthing but for equitation you are supposed to wear a solid suit and for pleasure you can wear um like mix matching stuff. I dunno thats just around here maybe but anyways..
Maroon always looks good on personally I think just about any horse.
