well ive never really had a TRUE equitation lesson learning about paterns and all that nice stuff...just my equitation on the rail (which is really nice)
I like the equitation patterns for the walking and racking horses where they have the cones and its the same thing everytime- stop at the first cone and wait for the judge to cue you, show walk/flat walk to the second cone then slow rack/running walk in a circle to the right, running walking/slow racking all the way to the third cone, stop and back up 3 steps then wait for the judge to cue you on the rail...SIMPLE!

lol Yeah, most of the time I'm ok with patterns, but if we get one in a class or at the end of a lesson, I never like to be the first one to go, cuz when I learn something I either have to see someone else do it, or do it myself, I can't just have it explained to me. I'm more of a visual learner I guess lol I think my least favorite would have to be sandwich figure 8's what is a sandwich figure eight?

A sandwich figure eight is two figure eights done one on top of the other. Normally it's done by trotting the first circle to the left, canter the second circle to the right, canter the third circle to the left, trot the fourth circle to the right. Stop. You want all four circles to be of the same size, so it looks like you are tracing an identical pattern.
