so equitation is my new favorite class! i like that theres not as much relying on the horse looking perfect as long as it doesnt take away from the rider b/c the horse that im showing this season definitely has some bad moments. is anyone here filling out their points for the equitation olympics? i am and after my show this past weekend, I'm half way there! yayayayayay, i got a first placve in eq. for the first time ever. im not trying to sound like im braging im just really excited b/c like a few months ago i had TERRIBLE posture, i would always lean forward and my legs were all over the place. who else here shows in equitation classes? PS hopefully pretty soon i can get my victory lap picture on here in the pictures section and i could get some critiques...

Equitation has always been my favorite class, especially because I'm very good at it, not trying to brag either. Congratulations at your show!

^im sure you dont suck at eq., lol, i was awful but i told my trainer that i wanted to show in eq. classes so we did a lot of work on it......lol and one of the ladies at the barn said that when i get out of an eq. class that my knees should be bleeding or at least bruised, so they're pretty hard core about it.
so no one else is going for points for the equitation olympics? alright well i was j/w, but i actually think its specific to saddlebreds.

haha well..im pretty good at rail work in equitation classes but i always really mess up on the paterns...so i dont like equitation..in fact i dont like any class with patterns! (equitation and showmanship...ESPECIALLY showmanship)
today i showed at my 4-h district show and i showed Elmo, my 3 gaited country pleasure saddlebred, in equitation and saddleseat pleasure and haha in my equitation class...we had to trot in a left circle and then canter in a right circle...ok my horse stopped and wouldnt go right in the middle of the trotting spot and then when i asked him to canter it took me 3 times to get him on the correct lead THEN after i FINIALLY got him on it he wouldnt turn to finish the circle!! but everyone screwed up on the canter part but i still got 2nd because i had perfect rail work which the other people didnt. there were 13 in the class btw.
but if i had a good equitation horse that is good at patterns then id prolly like equitation...but as of right now..NO!

lol angel sometimes decides to like patterns, i hope she does the rest of the season in my eq. classes though, she's really not an eq. horse but i can usually pull off making her look good enough...

I love patterns! Lol! I practice them a lot and sometimes I do them to music, it makes them even more fun.
