that sucks!! the reason i switched from huntseat was my mom made a mistake and told my new trainer over the phone that i had been doing saddleseat for 2 years...best mistake ever!!

alright well...i orginally started riding huntseat at this barn called..err um we'll call it AA. i rode huntseat there for about 2 years and then i quit riding for 6 months. Then i wanted to start riding again so my mom called Dar-col (the barn i ride at now) Darlene (the owner and trainer) was talking to my mom and asked if i did saddleseat. so since my mom didnt know which was which she said i did saddleseat. so then my mom told me that i had a lesson there and that they did saddleseat just like me. and then i told her that i didnt do saddleseat i did huntseat. but she made me go and try it for atleast 3 lessons before i made my decision as to whether i wanted to do huntseat or saddleseat... and ive been there ever since..sorry if i confused you, i live a rather confusing life!

lol hahaha...well here is my story...
i was completely into barel racing and pole bending (1st grade.. 6 years old) and i had this awesome barel mare and thats all i did...was barel race and this quarter horse person taught me how to barel race and i went all over the country competing in barel racing and i won like everywhere because i was so little and my horse was AWESOME and we just FLEW around those barels and i showed against the women...i think my slowest time with molly (the horse) was like 15.2 which is still super fast and my fastest was like 13 something...i dunno but yeah... about in 3rd grade i wanted a bay baby horse to train myself and everything and so i bought (all by myself i must add) a really small horse that was about 6 or 7 months old (strokers ace) he was a registerred TWH but i had no clue what that was and i started breaking him when he was 15 months (i was small enough where i could) and he just wouldnt barel race right and i noticed that his trot was super smooth (lol he didnt trot) but even tho my grandfather and my dad had walking horses i never knew the difference i just thought it was english and western (yeah i was stupid but i was like 10 ok?) and then one day when i was riding him my pappaw was like "man you got you a good racking horse" and i was like what the heck he isnt a racking horse he is a barel horse! hahahahaha yeah and he was like no a racking horse you need to start training him to show racking and i will help you. so i was like okay whatever and then we padded him up and he was then a racking horse show horse and we got him registerred racking and all that nice stuff and now i ride saddleseat!!! lol but when my parents got divorced i moved my horse (i sold the barel mare because i liked TWH better) to this barn close to my moms house and there was this girl there and she had saddlebreds and she started giving me lessons on saddlebreds and taught me a lot about them then i started taking lessons at peavine creek farms for a little bit and everything else..lol that was long!!

That's really cool how it turned out! I started because my mom and dad love saddleseat! Everyone in my family does mostly saddleseat, but we have other kinds of horses too.

i thought that usually in other disciplines your supposed to transition when the transition is called for to show that you have control over the horse? ? b/c in saddleseat we're showing the horse to their best advantage and all so it makes sense for us to finish our passes, but i didnt know that they did it in other disciplines too BTW good to hear the life stories!
