OK scenraio here:
Your name is Emeril Grabowski and Your gaiting your..lets say Peruvian Paso.....chief....arounf the ring and he isnt responding to your attempts to set his head...what do you do?
Do you just forget about the head, and make sure he looks "happy"or try to set his head and risk him flipping his head about/leaving the rail or speeding up his gait?
lol...yea...this was about my friend..emeril...and her horse Chi..i mean Chief

Lol, you crack me up! I wouldn't worry much about his head if he loses concentration while showing. Most of the judges won't judge him correctly anyway, so it probably doesn't matter much. A correct head does look nice though, so just make sure to work on it a lot at home.

what i do is i end up being dead least in the ring all the time but i get a head start and i trot or rack my horse a good "running jump" before i enter the arena so i never stop and i never move my hands unless i feel like the horse is getting a little bit strung out then i fix the problem. if that made any since?

Ok so I've worked with hank on this..at home if his head is out of control put your hand on his mane and stroke it and teach him that when you do that then he should tuck in. Its work fairly well for me but I don't work on it as much as i should : p

It depends on what they call for. Normally they tell Saddleseat riders to trot in, but if you are showing in plain english, they don't always do that. If they say to trot in, I would go for it! Show off that little Paso Fino with a fro, Lol!

this is what i do when im showing walking/racking horses and this is what everyone else does too...
enter the ring at your best gait..you know the one that the horse looks best at lol and i try to be the first one in...
and then i go all the way around and then if all the people arent in there by the time that i get around to the gait again i stop at a stand still until everyone is and this is what you are suppose to do too...if you go to the big walking/racking horse shows they will stop and wait for everyone else and its actually better too if you think about it..

Yes, just make sure your horse is comfortable going in first, if he isn't wait to go in last. You don't want to go in first and have the judge see your horse doing something wrong.
