When my mom has me ride hunt seat, I will purposely lose my irons and ride with my hands way up. She gets so mad and yells! Lol, it's funny!

I ride in a close contact when I am forced to ride hunt, so it is similar to a saddlseat saddle. I love to ride bareback too!

I sometimes use corners to hide my mistakes... as in, lets hide my horse in this gigantic crowd of horses behind the judge's back so it's impossible to tell which one is running into it Sometimes that backfires with certain horses and it ends up being "great, this gigantic crowd of horses just made my horse switch leads 9,000 times..." and then you have to stop in the midst of it and try to get the lead while being run down by 20 horses from behind. At which point, the solution is stopping right at the beginning of the corner so you're just at last turn of the corner when the canter is called and the horse has that nice natural tip to the rail and it (should be, but sometimes isn't) impossible for him to get the wrong lead. Sometimes I use corners to cheat...as in, "my horse is quite lovely moving in straight lines whereas when i actually use the corner he looks like a cripple" and you turn your arena into a gigantic diamond. Think Nancy Leigh Fisher showing Forecaster style. Sometimes I use the corners to waste more time...as in, "this horse is a royal peice of crap to look at and if I go deep in the corner the judge quite possibly won't have to see me that extra trip around the ring". And lastly, sometimes I use the corners to have fun with. As in, "my horse is pretty damn cool but if I cut the corner every time I'm going to look like a fool", not to mention the fact that it completely ruins the greatness of showboating. What can I say, I've shown a variety of horses with extremely varying scales of quality and manners
