From this show season, I remembered my friend Alex's Morgan gelding, Dancer. But she can't ride him nearly as well as her sister could. So Dancer goes around with his nose out and no collection or moition what-so-ever. But the funny thing is, he always wins his pleasure classes when against horses that have much nicer headsets. I honestly don't know why this is, and I'm looking for an answer. I have to admit he's a pretty horse, but he's incredibly sickle-hocked, somewhat low in the back, and just can't arch his neck. I have a picture of him standing, and that's pretty much how he carries his head, except the nose is normally more outward.

maybe the judge likes the look of her horse, or maybe the judge only sees her horse when it looks good. my trainer told me that judges tend to not watch a horse that they like. because if they constantly watch it then they see its mistakes and therefore wont want to give it first. but other than that, idk.

Maybe the judge likes Morgans? I personally don't see anything real fancy in them, I would pick an ASB or a TWH over one anyday.

Maybe the judge feels that morgans should look like her horse does or that the rider and horse do well together (which is kinda wrong b/c the rider shouldn't matter at all) Or like the others said: If a judge likes a horse they don't watch it so they won't see the faults. My friend said that she felt when she won for the wrong reason, it made up for the times she lost and was right on. Karma!
