Ahh, The Deerfield Fair, one of the last big shows in NH, and it was amazing for the most part. And the horse show rocked, and my first class on thursday rocked. Although I didnt place (it was a big class) me and my mare had a great ride. We walked (Which is huge considering my horse has walked like once the hwole show season out of like 30 classes), had a cute pleasure trot, awesome road trot, and a nice little rocking horse canter, with a few mistakes.
Unfortuneately I came down with whats called 'the deerfield flu' and was throwing up during the Saturday and Sunday. Plus, to make it worse, my championship class was Sunday, but me being a stubborn fool, I still wanted to go in the class. By Sunday, when my class came around it was horrible. I didn't even have the strength to push forward and bump my horse up into the bridle, so we broke into the canter about only 300 times (lol). Yeah, the last class didnt go so well...
Lesson learned.... Stubborn fools always finish last...
Other then that, the week was great with ofcourse some traditional drama like two stallions destroying a barn stall, a hackney flipping in its cart, ect.... lmao.

congrats on your mare doing well in the first class! i did some things similar to that. one was a day after i had gotten sick, i rode my friend's NSH Ivan The Terrible at the indiana charity horse show. like his name says, the horse is a nightmare, especially in the show ring. but we did place third, so that was pretty good. woops, sidetracked-ness...anyway, it was good that you tried!
