Ok guys...I have to vent about the show I just came home from.......................I will leave the name of the show and who the judge was out of this, but anyways. This show was a disgrace! The judge was horrible! He was very political! In most of the driving classes, he would stand behind the line-up and see who was heading the horse and tie the horses that way. It was craziness! And if he didn't like you or your trainer, you were just SOL. I just don't see the point in judging by politics. Ahh..it just kills me! Everybody at this show was like "Wow..I thought he would be an awesome judge, but this isn't right." And he would draw out classes forever!!! My trainer showed in the Ladies gaited, and it lasted 45 minutes! And the CP Novice Rider lasted close to that. During one of my classes, he made us go on forever. I felt so bad for the horses and riders. Ok guys, my venting is done haha

I've had judges like that. 45 minute shows are way too long. Thats like a good working ride, not a show. Holy jeebers..45 minutes..

I hate judges like that, its unfair, and sometimes you look at the horse who won because of politics and your like 'how the heck did that horse even manage to place'.
I've seen quite the judges in my day (Which is not too long, lol), but I remember this one that was horrid. It was a couple of years back when I still went to the Lancaster Fair (we dont anymore due to bad experiences in judging, stalling, and campers) and the judge their was not only political, but had her horses winning. There was this one black horse who would break at the trot, canter on the wrong lead, stick his nose out, and all kinds of stuff, but he kept winning. By the end of the weekend the horse had won like 10 blue ribbons and champion ribbons. After the show we found out the reason why the horse won so much, it was the judges neice and her black horse.

Ashley,
I know what show and what judge your talking about. I did not go to this show for that reason. Ive been to several shows where hes judged and it was the same way everytime. I decided not to waste my money or ruin my horses reps. Its okay though! Just move on and remember its one judges opinion... a very political opinion anyways..

I don't think we are going back their next year. The judging the year before this one was pretty bad too.

if u thiink thats bad u need to go to the Racking horse Celebration...yeah my dad knows judges but he doesnt pay.that not fair.at the Spring celebration the PRESIDENT of the associatioon judged! they all judge froom the saddle UP not DOWN like its supposed to be.this fall was probably the biggest celebration they have seen in 5 YEARS.cars were parked trailer was slammed stalls FULL...and this fall they FINALLY judged the WGC class right.my trainer is the ONLY woman to ride in the class and she ALWAYS outrides all those me and she finally WON a 10 y/o grl won the padded speed class, which she deseerved, and got reserve in the WGC speed class...life's not fair its just the way sho business is...what can we do?move all our horses to a big training facility and pay under the table?
