Well, there are a lot of them, but I will post the ones that come to me first.
~* Wrap black electrical tape to the tops of your boots and the ends of the shirt sleeves. This will keep them down and create a smooth appearance.
~* If you have a horse with toe clips, make sure to paint them silver or don't get any hoof polish on them.
~* Use hair spray and bobby pins to secure your derby to your head.
~* Clean the bottoms of your boots. I had a judge once that inspected all rider's boots, it was a funny sight.
~* Use baby powder or corn starch on white legs.
~* Make sure your tack is clean and all of the keepers are used.
~* If you ride bareback, you can sit on a wet towel or apply hair spray to your legs and set. It really helps with sticking!
~* Clean and polish your stirrup irons and bit. We soak ours in really hot water overnight and then buff them with a clean dry cotton towel.
~* Invest in garmet bags, saddle cases, and bridle/halter bags. You can get matching colors and monogramming, and they look nice and protect your stuff.
~* Stay organized. Have tubs or carriers labeled and sorted such as: grooming, riding, extra, etc.
If I think of anymore, I will post them later. There was a topic in the Saddleseat forum on YR about this. I think there are a lot of tips on there. ;D

It works for me. I show in Saddleseat bareback, and I am yet to be defeated.

~* Clean all buckles on your bridle. Also, take apart your bridle and really scrub it to make it clean.

Good luck!! Another tip: If you don't have pretty number pins and have to use safety pins, make sure to pin them on the inside of the coat. Don't pin it from the outside because the pin will be visible and won't look professional. ;D

It's really hard to explain, but you put the pin on the inside of the coat, push it out a little bit and then push it back inside and snap it. I hope this makes sense, ;D

another thing you can do to "stick" is to dampen the suede patches on your pants and your leather gloves (just barely damp!). Surprisingly it REALLY works too... just do it RIGHT before you get on (only works if you're riding with a saddle though :-P).
You can also hoof black the soles of your shoes (careful!). They look a lot better in pictures and neaten the whole picture.
