At the gaited jubilee, i saw 2 people wose horses had forelocks that were thick, and so they had just clipped a braid/braided a braid into part of the forelock, and had left the rest be tucked under the browband.
Is that allowed or correct?
I had always thought if the forelock was too thick, then you just didntbraid anything in the forelock.

what I do if the forelock is too thick I will just thin it out..but i dunno people can do whatever they want to to their horses...there really isnt a right or wrong way just people have their certail things that they do to their horses. I braid the ribbon into the mane and i get another braid and stick it under the bridle (unless the horse has a forelock but normally it doesnt because i cut it off)

I didn't even know braids were supposed to go into a forelock. Heh, that's me, the NSH girl. My friend has a Saddlebred with a full forelock, and she normally doesn't put a braid in it. Just leaves it in place, and I think I like it a lot more without the braid. My opinion.

Saddlebred show horses are traditionally shown with the forelock shaved off. (With a diamond point on the forehead) I'm not familiar with that sort of show, but we do thin out the forelocks of the Morgans in the barn.

what do you mean the diamond point on the forehead iced? Instead of just plain shaving it off straight back, at the very beginning of it you angle the clippers sideways and shave so it makes a "point" that looks like this: \/

i dunno what i want to do LOL, i liked the forelock ribbons...but since chi doesnt have a bridle path..it would look silly to have 2 ribbons..maybe i should shave it..lol it scares me to cut his hair though..im not sure i have clippers that can tackle it.

He doesn't have a bridle path at all? How do you get the halter and bridle to lay flat and stay in place?

Lol, that's weird! That horse needs a bridlepath. All you have to clip is about two inches, even though I like them longer.
