Make sure your heels go down really far too! I don't know if anyone said that yet, but it helps your equitation a lot!

Those legs will definitely be sexier now that you shortened your stirrups, Lol! The forelock thing isn't a big deal, it is mostly just a preference. I won't be at the show on the 25th in KY because I will be at a clinic.

lol my barn has a 3 gaited horse, but he had to be moved down to cp cuz he's a lot older now, but anyway, we had to grow out his mane and he didnt have a forelock so my instructor decided she wanted him to have one. the forelock refuses to grow, it grew to the point of awkwardly sticking out in front of him but it doesnt look like it will ever be long enough to fall over, so we have to rubberband it down at shows. it looks silly, but my instructor still insists that it be that way b/c at our barn she insists that all the horses have forelocks so they look more "horsey"

I like forelocks on some horses. I like the ponies with thick forelocks that are cut straight across. I like the long forelocks, but they are too much of a pain to tuck under the bridle.

i think that you should tuck your forelock under the browband and pull it to the side in all my pictures my forelock started out like that but ended up a mess o yeah and the pictures of me in the helmet that is so cheesy i didnt have my durby yet and they made me wear a helmet in the ring...

yeah i would say to tuck the forelock under the browband and off to the side, also (since i had this problem) if it always comes out anyway then put it in a rubberband or put water on it and then tuck it under
