Ive been working with Buddy(chi) on letting me mount and dismount during a class. Anyone have sggestions on how to make him stand still after i dismount? He backs up so his head is even with me, so i dont think hes trying to be bad, its just like hes getting ready to be led.

I would work with him a lot and make him feel comfortable standing alone. He shouldn't always have to have his head up your butt, he should be able to stand freely. Ground tying might help. Why do you dismount in your class?

I know what it is, Lol. I just have never heard it being called "horse stripping". It took me a while to get it. Up here in Michigan, we refer to it as "undressing" or untacking the horse. Lol!

Its a CP thing, to show how well your horse is suited to the class..u dismount and then mount again..its just a test like backing up or riding a pattern

o really? woah, i've never done that in my cp classes or even heard of that, actually in our rule books for my shows it says that all horses will be required to back up and we do that in every class and then thats the only test
