HI everyone I have a favor to ask of u!
If u guys know of any common Equitation patterns that is asked in an equitation class could u please post them here.
All the equitation classes that I've show in have been coincidently only rail work but this yr. at fair I think this Judge will ask us for patterns. I would like to practice some with Bubba for he isn't really in the know for patterns. I have been working trotting figure 8's with him but that's pretty much it
If u would post some common SS Equitation patterns I would be so appreciative THanks alot in advance -Shannon
A sandwich figure eight is two figure eights done one on top of the other. Normally it's done by trotting the first circle to the left, canter the second circle to the right, canter the third circle to the left, trot the fourth circle to the right. Stop. You want all four circles to be of the same size, so it looks like you are tracing an identical pattern.
This is from the Morgan Grand Nationals last year:
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SADDLE SEAT CLASSIC EQ. :From the line up, trot to the beginning of the opposite straightaway. Stop. Canter to the end of the strightaway on the left lead. Stop. Trot a serpentine consisting of two half circles across the arena. Begin on the left diagonal. Stop. Turn left 90 degrees. Canter across the arena on the centerline of the serpentine on the right lead. Stop. Turn left 90 degrees. Trot the straightaway on right diagonal. Continue to the lineup without stopping.
