your photos are cute! but about the derby if its to small maybe you could get a larger size. If your afraid it might fall of then you could try spraying the inside rim of your derby with hair spray it will make it stick to your head better so it wont fall off. And I may be wrong but I was always told that only boys should wear a feather in thier derby/hat. I think it looks best if girls don't wear them but then agan thats my opinoin. You do see a few girls wearing them at the shows though... One last thing I really think that your har looks best if its in a bun like the ones Iced has posted. They are very easy to do after some practice. The key to my sucsess with it is alot of hair pins ;-)

the derbys that you saw at the gaited jubilee are homeburgs, what the walking/racking people show in. they are a lot like a derby but differently shaped and everything. You can buy them at world champion horse equipment, just go to www.ehorseequipment.com I dont think my buns look like that because i do them myself lol and i cant see them but my dad says they look fine. lol all you do is put your hair in a low pony tail and twist your hair and wrap it around the part where the pony tail holder is on and while you are wraping it around pin it to your hair. after this wrap a hair net (you can buy these at wal mart) and put more pins to secure the hair net. after its finish spray with heavy hair spray (the brand "aqua net" in the purple spray can works best for me, you can buy it at wal mart) and get a little bow and put it on your bun!! its real easy but when i first started doing it mine would always fall down lol but they dont anymore..i can sleep on it and it will still be there!

LOL! ok..see my hair isnt long enough to do that, thats why i use the bow/bag combo because it hold it up and keeps it looking nice..maybe ill get a homburg i dunno ICED,lol come back and explain how to do that bow

first of all I wanna say that Chi looks absolutely adorable!! *sigh* so cute
as for the hair thing, Ill tell you the way I was taught but Ill write it in steps so its easier. But first your gonna need, a hairbush,1 big barret(sp), hairnets, hair pins, bobby pins (the v shaped ones), and hairspray.
1) pull your hair back into a tight, low ponytail. 2) flip your ponytail up 3) take the barret and clip it so that the majority of the ponytail can fall back over the clip. also when you clip the barret make sure it runs through the hair that isnt in the ponytail (ugh so it keeps the barret in place and holds the hair up.) 4) fold the extra length of ponytail back over the clip. 5) then use bobby pins to shape the bun into like a kidney bean shape. 6) then place a hairnet around the bun 7) use more bobby pins to hold the net on and still shape the bun 8) spray the bun with hairspray 9) place another hairnet over the bun and the rest of your hair (so it comes up to your hairline) 10) spray again
sorry if that doesnt make sense..im not the best at explaining. but if you dont get it ill try reexplaining.

how long? but it shouldnt be a problem, you just might have a bigger bun or youll just have to tuck more under. cause my hair is semi- long (and thick) and it all fits.
